Thats How It Went

The Birthday was not as much fun , as I wanted it to be ..but here is the story.

I had ordered a midnight surprise cake and flowers for my husband. My husband does not like choclates and so I ordered a pineapple cake. But choco cake was delivered. Other shopping portals are offering the same deal in less. I chose to shop with this portal ,inspite of it being costly , since they offered different flavours and they have built a good will with me earlier. But I was completely dissappointed. Plus they called up at 11.00 , to break the surprise. Good that it was me who picked up the phone , to which he told me that the guy has left for delivery and will call you if need be.I understand that they should call up if the address is difficult to trace. But they should understand that the product is a Midnight Surprise and the surprise should be maintained as far as possible.

Another goof up was , Anupam slept early and I was the one who waited. I did not sleep for the fear of missing the door bell. When the guy came Anupam could not hear the door bell and I missed seeing the surprise on his face. I woke him up after I arranged the cake and the flowers. He was happy but he said he expected that I am upto something , since inspite of being a 'sleepa-holic' , I was awake till late :-P

Any ways we enjoyed cutting the cake and having it at midnight , followed by tea.

But I have two lesson to learn , I should either get more innovative or stop planning surprises. I should stop planning midnight surprises , since me being awake till late , makes it obvious and plus we miss Aryan during the celebration.

Dinner was postponed for Sunday and Anupam did not wish to drive in friday traffic. Though we did not go on Sunday too , due to unexpected guests..but we will go sooner or later ;-)

Ohh yes..everyone guessed right. Got these pictures in a mail and I found them amazing. Googled on that, some say this are mysterious natural carvings on a tree in Nalgonda , Andhra Pradesh , India while others say its a tree in Animal Kingdom , Disneyland ,Orlando. Whatever , I can just say brilliant piece of art !

Quite a Brat He Is !

Aryan is being quite a brat these days. His aggression leaves me dumbstuck.

You just don't do what he wants and he will cry out as crazy. That is still okay. What more is , he will hit me, scratch my face and pull my hair.

Shopping for my brother's wedding has been a horrible experience, especially on last two weekends. I understand that he gets bored and I do my best to keep him entertained but he is completely on non-cooperation movement. Last to last week I was shopping for him and I made him try a few dresses. So I gave him a benifit of doubt that he is angry for he has to try so many coats.

But last sunday , he tested my patience and I lost.
We were shopping for Hubby and I did everything to keep him entertained.But he pulled my hair , scratched my face , fought with all the kids in shop.I got so pissed off that I took him to the mother's room and let him cry for sometime , while I sat there. I know that was not the right thing to do but I did not know what to do.

At home also , he gets angry over small things and shows it by pulling my hair and hitting and scratching.

My policy is not to give in to his anger and divert him to something else. It works at times but not always.

Could anyone tell me whats going wrong.

The BIG 18

My little dream turns 18 months today. It is unbelievable that Aryan has been with us from 1.5 years. Each day has been different since he was born.Life has been on a roller coaster. So many things to do at the same time. But then, a smile from him makes my day and my nights. A smile thats as refreshing as the morning sun. Anything for your smile my dear son!

We love you sweetheart. Hope you grow up to be happy, healthy and Intelligent. And get all the success and happiness in life.

even if she is as tired as you are, maybe more, and yet never ever expected to complain;
to be a servant, a cook, a mother, a wife, even if she doesn't want to;
and is learning just like you are as to what you want from her; and is clumsy and sloppy at times and knows that
you won't like it if she is too demanding, or if she learns faster than you;

One, who has her own set of friends, and that includes boys and even men at
her workplace too, those, who she knows from school days and yet is willing
to put all that on the back-burners to avoid your irrational jealousy,
unnecessary competition and your inherent insecurities;
Yes, she can drink and dance just as well as you can, but won't, simply
because you won't like it, even though you say otherwise

One, who can be late from work once in a while when deadlines, just like
yours, are to be met;

One, who is doing her level best and wants to make this most important
relationship in her entire life a grand success, if you just help her some
and trust her;

One, who just wants one thing from you, as you are the only one she knows
in your entire house - Your unstinted support, Your sensitivities and most importantly - Your understanding, or love, if you may call it.

But not many guys understand this......

Brother's Wedding And Related Thoughts

Preparing for my brother's wedding is what's all over my mind these days. He is my only sibling and so this is the most awaited event for us after my wedding.

Wedding is in Feburary first week and we managed to get 6 days off.Which ofcourse does not sound sufficient to my brother and my parents.But we could not manage more.

This will the first wedding for Anupam and Aryan in my side of family and so perhaps Anupam is all the more excited. He wants to be at his best and wants to make Aryan a prince charming. And this has resulted in a LONG LONG shopping list.

Men are men when it comes to shopping.So inspite of everything, shopping is irritating for both the men in my household. I really wish to order and get delivered , apparels and accessories just as grocery :-) As of now , every weekend goes in shopping and handling two irritated and tired men :D

Aryan will get lot of attention. I am thrilled at the thought of his reaction to the attention and the people. At the same time I am worried. As of now he demands lot of attention from me. If he gets clingy to me during the wedding, it will be tiresome. Being the only sister , I would be needed in almost all the ceremonies and it will not be fun for anyone if I will have a clingy /crying toddler with me. Just hoping for the best.

Having a new member in the family is always a mixed feeling. She is sweet and cheerful. She is mature and smart. I hope ,I wish and I believe that she would gel along well with our family, Keep our fingers crossed.

My brother is not too younger to me.In fact we have never shared a Elder Sister-Younger Brother kind of relationship. But still , inspite of me being married , it is hard to imagine that he is getting married. I mean , I never thought he is such a grown up boy. I know he is 28 , I know he is mature , I know he is intelligent, I know he is settled in his job , but MARRIAGE ? It is funny , and I wonder how would my parents feel to see us getting married , when even I feel the way I do :-) And I wonder , will I be ever able to imagine Aryan growing too old to get married. Infact , I guess now I know why mothers get insecure with daughter in laws ...hehhehe.
But fact is life moves on faster than we can imagine. No wonder I would be writing the story after their wedding in an year or two ;-)

As of now , I wish them all the best. May they continue to find love , happiness and solace in each other's company forever.
